Lingua Franca Dance & Physical Theatre leap back onto the stage with their latest full-length show, Unsustainable Behaviour.

This work is about progress. A personal and large scale insight into human behaviours and ideologies that surround our need and desire to be better, do more, have more and push the limits of our survival to the point where we are seriously challenging the future of civilization.

Inspired largely by the Ronald Wright’s book ‘A Short History of Progress’ we are interested in the way the physical body pushed to its limits in performance, but also in life, is a metaphor for the way we are pushing our world and its complex systems to their limits. Are we creating ‘progress traps’ that have us stuck on the treadmill of “business as usual” with no way back?

Creative Team: Adam Deusien (Director), Alison Plevey (Co-Director/Performer), Joseph Simons, Polly Sara, Jordan Wong (Performers), Becky Russell (Lighting Design/Operator)  Anne Marie Dalziel (Set and Costume Design)  Aaron Hopper (Sound Design)  Kylie Shead (BMEC Local Stages Producer).
