Exploring and embracing the themes and clichés of the Superhero genre, We Will Come to the Rescue showcases the dance, physical theatre and gymnastic skills of fLiNG Physical Theatre’s young performers.
fLiNG Physical Theatre is a professional youth dance organisation based in the Bega Valley, on the far South coast of NSW. Founded by Lee Pemberton in 2001, fLiNG Physical Theatre offers regional youth the opportunity to work with professional artists to create inspiring contemporary performance work.
At the centre of the organisation is the fLiNG Company, made up of performers aged 14-18, who train in dance, physical theatre and gymnastics. Over the past 15 years, fLiNG Physical Theatre has created more than twenty full-length works. Past productions have toured regionally, to capital cities and internationally, representing Australia at the Singapore Youth Festival in 2012. Numerous Alumni have gone on to tertiary study and successful careers in the performing arts.
fLiNG Physical Theatre aims to nurture the development of the arts in the region by developing artistic engagement in our youth and community, and supporting local artists through commissions and employment. The organisation also has a strong history of bringing visiting artists to the region, maintaining our connection to current performance practices, and feeding new ideas into our local creative community.
